Contd. -2- EFC1/AT19.8.19. It is also the practice of the C.A.V. and Smith people to place a fuse in the field circuit only. This we take to be merely to ensure that the dynamo cannot be run in an excited condition without the battery being connected, which would, of course, without a fuse, result in serieas heating of the dynamo.
