1263 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 25th. October 1937. Messrs. The S.U.Company Ltd., Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, Birmingham, 8. For the attention of Mr. Leslie Kent. Dear Sirs, We have recently received two pumps for each of the following numbers, G5.1932 to G5.1938 inclusive, to distinguish between them we have marked one of each with a J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Will you please make certain that numbers are not duplicated. We have only been able to trace one of the pumps sent me with interference fit rollers number G5.1812, and this was returned to you by our Stores. There is no trace of the other Pump and we fear it has gone out on a repair job. Could you, therefore, supply another pump having a reduced armature and oversize rollers, also 6 diaphragm assemblies for the standard pump with reduced armatures to test. We are now inspecting all S.U. pumps, and would be glad if you would send us a complete set of your drawings for these pumps. The Inspector complains that the enamel on the pots has been allowed to run over the stop which locates the end covers and has to be cleaned off to allow the cover clearance on the pot. Will you please see that precautions are taken to prevent this. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
