-2- EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. Expl. No. REF Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG25.10.24. made however that a tooth on the large gear ring carrying the high tension distributor shall be marked, so that it comes opposite the inspection window fitted under the lubricator cap, at the point at which the break occurs. Using this method enables the timing of the magneto on these cars to be carried out more conveniently and more accurately than the old method. Instructions as regards the method of timing the magnetos is being incorporated in the Instructions Book being got out for the cars fitted with 4-wheel brakes. As these instructions have not yet been sent out, Sales will not be aware of the consideration which has been given to the timing of the magneto. As a further improvement we could, if it was thought desirable, provide a small gauge in the spares for setting the contact breaker; This would be in the form of a shallow pot - there would be a taper hole for the contact breaker unit to fit into and the diameter of the ring would correspond with the diameter of the cams. The points could then be adjusted with this gauge and then transferred to the magneto. He. | ||
