Messrs Rolls Royce Ltd.
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

re: TANK ATTACHMENTS.

As we informed your Mr. West, some little time ago, we have been experimenting with carbon graphitic bearings for the spindle and gear of the above.

Our tests indicate that these bearings are a decided improvement on the metallic bearings at present used and we consider that it would be advantageous to introduce this type.

We shall be glad to know therefore, if you will be willing to test out one or two tank attachments fitted with these bearings.

Should you approve this type of bearing, it will probably be some little time before we can put these in production as the manufacturers have not reached finality in method of manufacture.

Yours faithfully,
for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED.

M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} P. Russell
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER.
