Re: B.12.AW - PARIS TRIALS CAR

Sr. informed me that he had mentioned to you that the engine of this car pinks very badly when run on low grade fuel, but is O.K. in this respect when run on 80 to 87 octane petrol.

Sr. would like to know whether it would be possible for us to lower the compressionn should this be found advisable at some future date. Could a thicker gasket (cylinder head joint) be fitted? In the affirmative, could you please supply one.

We have now carried out the modification to the brake system, as per Blue Print N° RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6II and, after a short run last Sunday morning, Sr. found the brakes to be good. He left Paris for Bordeaux with the car early last Monday morning.

We should be glad if you would kindly let us know the oil recommended for the pistons of the carburettors.

We attach a sketch with dimensions of a part (plunger) which we require for the operation of the rear n/s brake shoes, because the one which we removed from this car, which we replaced by taking one from another chassis, was found to be deformed where it fits into the brake shoe. Please refer to remarks on sketch. If you cannot supply one, please let us know as soon as possible, so that we can get one made locally. We wish, however to avoid doing this, providing you can possibly supply.

Sr/VA.
