To C. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to CJ. " " Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} " " B¹. " " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " " SP.{Mr Spinney} :X4293a E1/G2.10.20. X.4152. RE BODY FOR CHASSIS 6.EX. X.3923. 4293a Would you kindly note the following extra instructions regarding the body for chassis 6.EX:- (1) HAND BRAKE LEVER. We send herewith drawing F.7088 which Derby tells us is the correct coachbuilder's drawing for 6.EX. The dimensions for the hand brake lever on this drawing should be followed instead of those given on Lec.1280. (2) NEAR SIDE FRONT DOOR. The near-side front door shewn as 17" wide on Lec.1280 should be made 18" wide, the extra inch being added to the rearmost edge of the door, thus exposing the front seat a little more. (3) DIMENSIONS OF REAR SEAT. Drawing Lec.1280 has two errors in the dimensions concerned with the rear seat. The seat depth of 12" should read from the top of the chassis frame, and the dimension shewing the thickness of the back of the seat should read 6" instead of 8.375". The drawing as shewn is correct to scale. (4) WINDSCREEN. Mr. Royce has inspected drawing No. SS.{S. Smith}231 showing an inclined windscreen which was sent by Mr. Spinney. He would like an inclined windscreen for chassis 6.EX instead of the joggled windscreen illustrated on Lec.1280. We attach herewith a blue print of Lec.1287, to which the windscreen should now be made. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
