| To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X212 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.19/RW.4.1.36. Bentley Large Slipper Wheel. We have run one of these wheels and find that the cork friction linings are unsatisfactory owing to rapid wear, and Ferodo linings give very inconsistent results. We think we ought to return to the cotton duck, of the original thickness. This means increasing the thickness of the rear inertia wheel and the pressure plate. Will you please modify the designs accordingly. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
