COPY Lendrum & Hartman Ltd., Buick House, Albemarle Street, W.1. September 23rd 1937. Dear Mr.Cowen, Many thanks for your note re the Buick we have on order for you. We have been informed by the Factory that the self-shifting transmission will not be available for any cars exported - the reason being that it is apparently an extremely elaborate and complicated piece of work, and they do not want any to leave the domestic field until they have been given a very considerable test. The servicing of this new gear shift means an entirely new unit. Under the circumstances you will see that I cannot very well supply this. Sincerely yours (Sd) B.Hartman. W.Cowen, Esq.
