USE OF PRIVATE CARS ON COMPANY'S BUSINESS.

Applications for additional petrol coupons have been received from several people who are not on the Official List of those allowed to use their cars on Company's business. A circular memo, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/T.20.7.39., pointed out that the Company took no responsibility whatever for cars used without the sanction of the Management. The instructions in this memo have apparently been ignored.

Only a very few of those not on the Official Mileage List have taken private measures to insure their cars for business purposes. Anyone who has not got the sanction of the Company to be on the Official List of those who can claim 2½d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} per mile, must make his own private arrangements, at his own expense, for his Insurance Company to cover the use of his car for business purposes. The Insurance Policy should then be submitted to D/L. for approval.

Under no circumstances will coupons for additional petrol be given to anybody unless D/L. has approved of their Insurance Policy.

The Company accepts no responsibility whatever, in the event of someone having an accident while using his car on Company's business, unless that person is on the Official Mileage List.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}
