+209 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} & RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Copy to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} E/Rbr.{Mr Rubbra}6/MN.9.5.35. Freewheel Clutch for Two-speed Supercharger Drive. With regard to the last failure of the above we would like to try the effect of having less clearance between the rollers and the cage. We understand that you have already prepared a special cage for this job having .002 clearance for the rollers. We should like to build this up in the unit and test again on the high gear. In order to remove any doubts as to whether the outer race is disengaged properly we should like this definitely wedged in the disengaged position. We suggest that we run a quarter of an hour like this and then dismantle to see what is happening. If the clutch appears to be satisfactory we can then remove the packing and leave the disengagement gear as standard for further running. We suggest short runs of about 15 minutes duration and then strip and see how the clutch is progressing. E/Rbr.{Mr Rubbra} Rbr.{Mr Rubbra} | ||
