X.3389 COPY. Tel No: Regent 8000. Air Ministry, Telegraphic Address. Alexandra House, "Air Ministry, London." Kingsway, LONDON. W.C.2. 24th February, 1920. All letter should be addressed to The Secretary. Reference. APT/53795. --- Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. --- Attention of Col. Barrington. --- Dear Sirs, X.3254. "CONDOR" ENGINES. X.3389. X.3399. --- In reference to the above engine, and the decision to identify the engine fitted with the two gears of different ratios, will you kindly take steps to ensure that on all the name plates, series 1 is affixed for the .555 ratio and Series 11 for the .66 ratio. This is of considerable importance as you will be well aware from a service point of view and it is essential that in all correspondence relating to the engine the identification mark should always be referred to. As soon as the engine has reached the production stage a Technical Order will be issued calling attention to this. Yours faithfully, (Sgd) J.C. BRIGGS. for head of D.2. JCB/CF. | ||
