R.R. 235 a (100 T) (S.F. 575, 16-4-19) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2354. EFC2/T1.8.19. Contd. -2- Messrs Lucas have, however, taken this matter up at our instigation, and we understand they are building further dynamos (except for about 12 which we have already received) with slanting armature slots and tapering pole edges, which they consider will eliminate that portion of the noise due to the change in flux of the armature teeth. It was considered that some portion of the noise might be due to ball bearings, and with this in view, Messrs. Lucas have decided to fit all further machines with Hoffmann ball bearings in place of Skeffko. This is particularly timely, as we have, since the holiday, had a failure (seizure) of one of the Skeffko ball bearings on the dynamo, which has now been removed from chassis 1 EX. We are confident that this trouble will be overcome. EFC. | ||
