ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To: EFC Order No.: PD 12 Customer's No.: X 8783 X8783do Faulty Dynamo YM35 Off Chassis 100RE This dynamo was received in a dismantled condition. Although the machine had been somewhat cleaned up, it was clear that solder had been thrown from the armature. It was found however, that the commutator was in a brand new condition, which suggested that solder had been thrown from the commutator connections, and that they had been resoldered, and the commutator skimmed. An effort had also been made to rebed the brushes. The field coils were obviously burnt out, although the insulation of the machine was OK on test. This machine was one of the early type, with a control brush angle of 120°. Signed: Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
