To EH. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL E4/B4:7:17. 3 X2886 Re Crankshaft Gear Wheel Spring Drive. With reference to the latest crankshaft spring drive, would you please note that we think the springs supplied, which are greatly set up, are of the wrong type. We have come to the conclusion that the old form of spring should be used, to larger dimensions of course, in which the initial load is very small. The set up springs should have the effect of causing knocking in the drive, instead of cushioning. We are proposing to let you have some springs of the correct specification.
