BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M26.8.31. C. to SC. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 20/25. GEARBOX WITH SYNCHRO MESH. X5310 Replying to BY16/G21831., we send herewith N. sch. 3331. shewing the modifications we suggest to clear up the difficulty with the rear cross member. We regret that we were unable to get it away on Monday as promised as we found further investigation was required. The only modifications are the damper cylinder, cantilever bracket for the rear of the servo bridge and the snout of the rear gearbox support. The width of the flange of the cross member is also slightly reduced. We went carefully into your proposal, but apart from throwing the load out of centre with the cross member it also involved some alterations to the backing light switch. We also think that the bracket for carrying the cylinder on N. sch. 3331. is an improvement on the old one. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
