Lucas Combined Stop and Tail Lamp.

I notice from your Experimental Department Report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst1/MA29.3.34. that you consider the Lucas combined stop and tail lamp a big improvement over the standard Butler lamp of that type, and that you propose to standardise it on the Bentley for that reason.

If it is such an improvement we suggest that we ought to standardise it on the R-R cars as well, in fact our original idea in showing Lucas' the Butler lamp was that they should produce something at least as good if not considerably better, so as to confine our orders for lamps entirely to Lucas and not split the order and now this does seem possible.

Therefore, in negotiations which you may have with Lucas for quotations for the supply of these lamps for Bentleys, will you please keep in view the fact that we shall order similar lamps for R-R cars, and therefore our quantities will be greater and your quotation from Lucas should be more advantageous than for Bentley alone.
