Dear Sirs,

We thank you for your letter of the 16th inst, Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/LG, with blue prints attached showing particulars of your hubs to take standard Michelin 6 stud disc wheels. The largest well base disc wheel which we manufacture is the 21 x 5, as we have found that there is no call for disc wheels with a larger rim. The largest size of balloon tyre which can be satisfactorily fitted to this rim is the 33 x 6.75.

With regard to offset, the distance from the inside face of the nave to the centre line of the rim on this wheel is 58.3 m/m, the thickness of the nave being 10m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} This is slightly less than the offset of the wheel shown on your drawing, the difference being accounted for by the fact that we endeavour to maintain the clearances between the inside wall of our balloon tyres and the chassis approximately the same as the clearances with high pressure tyres.

We attach hereto a copy of our print S.P.148 from which you will be able to confirm that our standard wheels will satisfactorily fit your hubs. We are not producing these wheels in quantities and delivery would be in the neighbourhood of three weeks from receipt of order.

We shall be pleased to issue these wheels on loan to you and are only awaiting you instructions before putting them in hand. Your drawings are herewith returned.

Yours faithfully,

for the DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED.
