We have had a very bad case of the exhaust valves eating into the seatings. No.1, 3, 5 and 6, the seats had been hammered away to a depth of approx. .020. It is the first case of bad hammering I have seen in service.
We are of the opinion that it has been run for long periods on the valve bounce period. What is your opinion please?

(Handwritten Side Note) This might be lack of cooling. Le Mans experience? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}
