The Guide is a difficult piece to manufacture because of the very weak section at the mouth, allowing the piece to distort, the taper is very steep being 1 in 6, if this was made 1 in 48, it would greatly stiffen up the section at this point.

It is also necessary when removing Camshaft. to draw all the Guides out of Case, at present there is no provision for withdrawing,

We suggest that Guides E.70318 should be modified thus so that they can be easily extracted.

We would also like to suggest that Tappet Rollers be Barrelled on dia: to overcome the scoring which is liable to occur due to faulty Roller contact caused by slight inaccuracy in machining the dim: for Barrel portion could be such that would give good area of contact.

10. Flywheel & Clutch.
--------------------

We have now fitted the modified Clutch Springs so that Clutch can be operated.

11. Paper Joints.
---------------

These were found to be necessary on Cylinder and Crankcase face, and although we have not fitted them on Lower Half, and Wheelcase Facings it would be advisable to fit them on future Engines.
