X.430 ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. March 23, 1921. CyS-G 23321. To: Mr. Hives. From: Mr. Olley. X.3815 RE MAGNETOS. X.430. Z.3916 I have been informed on authority which may or may not be competent, that the machine work for the B.T.H. magneto is done at Lynn, Mass., within fifty miles of here. It would probably be difficult to obtain confirmation of this here, but you might be able to find out whether it is true. If so, it proves that electrical work of good quality can be produced in the U.S.A. The Apollo magneto, made at Kingston N.Y. has been brought to our attention by the president of the concern. It is made to the designs of two ex-Robert-Bosch men and is almost entirely waterproof, with die cast aluminum body having laminated pole pieces cast in place. Several of the big New York trucking companies have adopted it as standard. We have run it some months ago, with good results and are just obtaining a new model for trial. The American Bosch, however, is undoubtedly the machine on which we should concentrate our attention just at present. CY. | ||
