re. Improved Steering for Existing 20-HP. Cars.

With further reference to the above and particularly in regard to the last paragraph of EY10/H3.11.26 - we are not very satisfied with the steering on the 20-HP. cars which we are now turning out.

We are aware of the modified steering which is coming through on the 151 st.{Capt. P. R. Strong} chassis of the 'J' series, but in the meantime, the cars about which we are worried are those at present at the Works and at Coachbuilders.

We certainly strongly recommend that something should be done on all these cars prior to getting into customers' hands, especially as we understand that we are now in a position to fit the modified side steering tube spring, and this would not be a matter of very great expense.

P.S. Since writing the above, we have discussed this matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and understand that the side steering tubes themselves are being changed on all 20-HP. cars retrospectively in view of breakages which have occurred, and that the modified side steering tube springs will be fitted at the same time.
We hope that this matter will be pushed forward with all speed, so that cars at the Works and at Coachbuilders can have this job carried out before they get into the hands of the owners.
