Dear Sirs,

Some two and a half years ago (Feb. 1937) you wrote me to the effect that your Company were interested in a new form of Preselector Gear Change that I had designed for use with Synchromesh and similar change-speed gears.

If your Company, since writing me on this matter, have retained an interest in this form of gear change I should be glad to know whether you would be prepared to consider the acquisition of the patents covering it.

Several other notable car manufacturers have also indicated their interest in the mechanism, and may be definitely interested in it as the war ends when new and more advanced forms of gear change will appear.

It may be recalled this mechanism gives the normal type of gearbox a simple semi-automatic gear change, with preselection on all gears, similar to that employed on Daimler and other cars. The mechanism is also easily and cheaply adapted to positive gear shifting (by pedal) or to power shifting by vacuum, electric or equivalent means - with preselection in each case.

Yours faithfully,

A.{Mr Adams} Alltree
