Mr. Alvey O.O. from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Y1588 Y967/Y1588 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/LG23. 5.24. We wrote to our representative in France and asked him to obtain licences to import the oil we are sending over there. We have today received the following communication from him :- "Regarding the two consignments of oil which are being despatched direct to Mr. Trone, we are afraid that we cannot obtain the necessary licences from our end. We have made enquiries from the local authorities but they are unable to issue us, per Mr. Trone, any licences for the importation into France of any Oils coming from abroad. They state that the manufacturers in England should fix this up before the oil is despatched, making an application to the nearest French Consulate for permission to import the oils". We should therefore be obliged if you will kindly take the matter up with the Manufacturers of the oil and request them to look into the matter. lttrs. from Messrs. Price & Alex. Duckham attc.
