-G- Front and Rear Hydraulic Dampers. Governor Controlled I.F. F.60246. P.82839 Valve Damping Rings reduced to 1.292 dia. End Valve Covers mod. to No.1395. Bellows Stems deleted. Initial load set to 40 lbs. The damper maintained their maximum loads. The control worked satisfactorily. The soft riding position was on the heavy side in the rear seats. The front pitched. There was no abnormal loss of oilfrom the dampers. The glands were moist throughout the mileage. Replenishment during the mileage for all dampers was approximately 100 c.c. Governor Control to Dampers. I.F. F.85507. The pressure to the dampers was maintained, and answered readily to the hand control. A leak of gearbox and unit oil still comes out of the drive. The quantity of oil lost was from the main connection working loose, a steel insert not having been fitted. Rear Axle. I.F. G.86536. The rear axle was a good standard for quietness throughout the mileage. It was free from oil leaks. Rear Brakes. I.F. G.86514. The rear brakes were up to standard efficiency. Wear of linings was normal. The brake drums when dismantled showed light scoring. We find this is more noticeable when running during the Winter months than during Summer. The probable reason being, more sludge finds it way into the drums. | ||
