To C.J. To B.J. } FROM HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X766 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG10.12.24. With regard to the description in The Autocar (Dec.5th.) of the 40/50 HP. car and the mention of it boiling on the Kirkstone Pass. Crawford informed me that during that run a small blanking plate was fitted to the radiator. We think this should have been pointed out to the Press Representative. It is rather unfortunate, because the last report in The Autocar of a run on a 40/50 HP. car in France, boiling was mentioned and then the car was not run under standard conditions - having no shutters.
