The Continental “Uko” Lever consists of the lever a, similar to our well-known lever No. 2, tyre hooks b, and rim notch ba The most common form of injury to the Tube, that of “nipping” during the process of fitting or removal, is entirely prevented by the use of the “Uko” Tyre Lever. This cannot be claimed for any other existing type. PRICE. “Uko” No. 1 for tyres up to 90 m/m 3/- each. “Uko” No. 2 for all other sizes 4/6 each. METHOD OF USE. To fit a Tyre, insert hook b under the beading (Illustrations No. 1 and 2) and by means of lever a which is pressed against the tread of the tyre raise the beading high enough to enable the valve to be pushed through the opening in the rim. The “Uko” Tyre Lever is used in the same way for the insertion of Security Bolts. The same procedure is followed as shown in the two illustrations above without removing the tube. Once the beading is raised the tube is carefully removed by its valve. To fit the second beading, hook b with its notch ba is inserted between the edge of the rim and cover, after the beading is carefully placed into the rim. This prevents the beading from coming out again and obviates the necessity of using a second lever. To remove the hook twist it sideways and pull out. | ||
