E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Dept. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} --------- X7080 BY2/G.11.2.29. SS.{S. Smith} CHASSIS. ----------- We have received a memo from Experimental Department (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG.8.2.29.) in which Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} writes to R.{Sir Henry Royce} to say that it has definitely been arranged to abandon exhaust heating for the carburetter on the SS.{S. Smith} engines. We should therefore instruct the water jacketed bend for carburetter heating. This should enable us to clear up the induction system, carburetter and water connections. BY.{R.W.
