on this as soon as possible. It would be of advantage if the present car running 10,000 mile test were specially tested from this point of view, say every 3000 miles, during which time, particularly in the early stages, wear will have taken place as the rings gradually bed themselves in. The rate of this wear will be progressively less. It is proposed to make special tests at regular intervals throughout the running of the Sales 10,000 mile test car also to obtain evidence on this point.
