To CJ. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4586 R6/M13.10.25. ROAD WHEEL HUBS. X.421 X.5580 [struck through] X.4586 We have successfully shortened these for steel artillery wheels. We are now proposing to do the same for wire wheel hubs. They should be lighter, and not overhang so far. Rudge-Whitworth say it is an advantage to have less depth of wire hub. I do not think so exactly, but there is sufficient in the shorter hubs.
