Test report on fuel consumption and water temperature for a 3 1/4 Jaguar.

3 1/4 JAGUAR.

Part throttle fuel consumption over 72 miles gave 15.8 m.p.g.

200 miles test run gave 1064 m.p.g. on Castrol XL oil and 16.7 m.p.g. fuel.

Average speed of approx. 40 m.p.h.

Speeds varied to include water temperature tests also.

Maximum water temperature full throttle high speeds with thermostat 60/64°C and without 50/53°C.

Water boiled at 15°C air temperature after idling for 22 mins., starting at 70°C. Thermometer correct up to 80°C.

The low water temperature accounts for the weak carburation below 30 m.p.h. when snap accelerating.
