300a. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls}4/R.22.2.37. 35-EX. We presume when you have both Bentleys running you will go to Paris with 35-EX and fit the new stiff half shaft. In view of the fact that you are having trouble with sideways clearance in the rubber rear shackles, and also that these give very little improvement in tyre noise if there is already rubber between the axle and springs and between the body and the frame, we recommend that you fit pieces for solid shackles taken out with the car. HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} is sending you a cork oil level indicator which saves a considerable amount of money. If you could fit this at the same time we should be in a position to standardise it. Perhaps you would also disconnect the front roll rod as I am sure there will be an outcry at the cost if we have to standardise an arrangement requiring two roll rods. As regards 3.B.IV., the most important feature is the bearings, but I have asked HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} to send you a complete specification of the chassis.
