EXTRACT FROM A LETTER SENT BY LORD CHOLMONDELEY

ON THE 4th.JUNE 1938

--------------------

It might interest you to know that I went down to Brooklands and tried the short chassis Lagonda. Standing to 60 there was very little in it, standing to 1/4 mile my car was 19 and three-fifths and the Lagonda 19 and one-fifth. When I got my maximum revs. on third he could still stay on third, and it was only then he got away from me. One thinks the springing is better on the road, but when one strikes some of the bumps at Brooklands it feels far better in the BENTLEY.

Frankly I was disappointed, as I thought with its extra cylinders etc. and the independent front suspension, one would get a much better performance, so I do not think you need worry about that car."
