CHOKING OF LOW SPEED CARBURETTOR JETS 20. H.P.
CHASSIS NO. GYK-48 - T. SIMPSON.

You are probably aware that we have had very considerable trouble with the choking of the low speed jet of the above car.

The whole of the petrol system of this car has been taken down two or three times but trouble still continues.

A Zenith filter has now been fitted and I have had the low speed jet removed and a new one supplied.

It appears that the fluff which has been the cause of the trouble always collects in quantity at the point marked A.{Mr Adams} on the sketch.

I am sending you the actual jet removed from this by separate post for examination and shall be glad of your advice as to whether you consider it is sufficiently well finished. It appears to me that the rags which have been left at the end of the milling operation on the guide are quite sufficient to catch up any pieces of fluff which may be passing through and so cause an accumulation. I personally do not consider that the jet is as well or smoothly finished off as should be the case.

Would you consider that, if this is the ordinary standard of production, it is sufficiently good?

CWB.
