COPY. Ve/NP.1/CB.14.8.40. - 2 - 2nd. Buffer filled with D.T.D. 44.B. Anto-freezing oil. Trial as with glycerine. 3rd. Buffer filled with Lockheed Hydraulic Brake Fluid. Trial as with glycerine. Measurement of trunnion load. To be carried out as soon as Mst/Shaw has completed his apparatus. This might with advantage be carried out concurrently with the barrel temperature tests. Gun No. 11240. To be re-assembled immediately to specification Ve/NP.7/CB. 13.8.40, with automatic magazine. The gun to be mounted on its side as in the Beaufighter. Development trials of the automatic feed mechanism to be carried out on this gun until satisfactory results are obtained, whereupon the gun can be re-built for delivery against A.M. contract S.5324/C.11.C. Cinematograph records of feed mechanism operation on the above two guns to be taken and experiments to be conducted with various types of ejection chutes. 80º Elevation and Depression Tests. A mounting for these tests has been designed and will be made. Tests will have to take place at Melton Mowbray in the elevation cage there. Ve/NP. | ||
