To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X354 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}10/KW.18.10.35. Relief Valve Chatter on Phantom III. As mentioned in the report Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}25/KW. 26.9.35, we had not tried out the hydraulic plunger valves on the latest relief valve layout LeC.4385 in conjunction with the larger oil pump LeC.4400. Since this we have fitted a set to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2153/4/5 to No. 2 chassis which is now in France. Before leaving the Works, G.W.H. reported that they had overcome the valve chatter by the fitting of these valves. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/L.H.Swindall. | ||
