The weight of the P & R is also 95 lbs. complete. (7) The overall external dimensions of the Exide battery box are 22" long, 8¾" wide and 11½" deep. Those of the P & R case are 21½" long, 8¾" wide and 9½" deep. (8) General:- As reported elsewhere(see our EFC1/T14.11.22) the P & R battery incorporates a number of points not included in the Exide battery, which make for durability and long life. One point not previously mentioned is that the P & R battery contains approximately twice as much ratio of volume of acid to plates as the Exide, which makes the battery electrically more efficient so that the density of the electrolyte need not be taken so high. Also the battery would not require topping up nearly so often. The method of fixing also prevents the battery lid{A. J. Lidsey} from rattling. The P & R battery is offered to us at a considerably smaller figure (£5.12.6d) than the Exide (£7.5. 0d) Will PN.{Mr Northey} note that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is visiting R.{Sir Henry Royce} this weekend and taking down a number of samples illustrating these points, with a view to placing these in front of R.{Sir Henry Royce} first hand.
