Dear Mr.Bailey,

I am greatly obliged by your letter of yesterday. I spent a considerable time this morning ascertaining the position of some of the Experimental orders which are outstanding.

[Handwritten annotation above line]: 15679 Bentley + 25HP
Order No.11415 - was delivered on Friday last.

[Handwritten annotation above line]: 15945 6 Top plates. F88836
Order No.14231 - is to be completed this week.

[Handwritten annotation above line]: 17079 Repaired Bumper springs 2 new top plates!
Order No.15276 - will be completed next week, as soon as the machining of the "Eyes" can be done.

[Handwritten annotation below line]: 18041

[Handwritten in right margin, bracketed]: Pair of new rear springs F82171

Dealing with these four items, I must say that the real difficulty is that they have had to wait for the alternative dies which is not undertaken by the Spring Department, and also for the special machining of the "Eyes" at the Engineering Dept.

[Handwritten in right margin]: Solid eye F88751

These items do of course, interfere with ordinary production, and they have not been exercising sufficient pressure to ensure that the parts in question are put through within reasonable time.

I have undertaken in future to deal myself in any part of the Works, with any difficulties which might arise, and which are to be brought to me for attention, and I will bring such pressure to bear, as will ensure a reasonable response. You can imagine I have strongly emphasized the importance of these Experimental Springs which will affect production.

Yours sincerely,

(Signed) G.E.Wolstenholme.
