To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} From G.J.H. X5840 Hôtel de France, Châteauroux, Indre. 22/6/29. You will have noted in our daily report failure of telegauge. We have traced this to an air leak developing in the pressure line. When disconnected and blown through a fair amount of petrol came out. The following were checked: gauge, O.K.; pressure line and balance line checked for leak as per instructions, O.K.; therefore joint in pressure line at fault. The pump fitted on instrument board is a very poor job, the plunger has twice become disconnected, and knob is too long. We obtained a new exhaust manifold from Paris, and the one sent from Derby has just reached Paris Depot. We instructed them to keep it in exchange. | ||
