(18) The resistance of the secondary cold (state temperature) winding shall be obtained by passing through this winding a few milli-amperes of current from a battery of 12 volts or thereabouts, a volt-meter being used to give the voltage across the secondary winding and milli-ammeter in series.

(19) The milli-amperes taken by the secondary winding at 108 volts A.C. 50 cycles, shall now be observed both for the armature core in the horizontal and vertical positions.

(20) Now repeat (6) to ascertain if gap and timing has been altered appreciably.

(21) Now vary primary point gap ± .004" above and below normal and again observe timing.

(22) The armature cort flux at different speeds shall now be obtained, making use of a thermionic rectifying valve, high resistance and low reading moving coil ammeter, in a manner elsewhere explained.
