G.W. Hancock Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, France. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s Test of the Cadillac. We have arranged with Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} that before he starts for Switzerland he will try the Cadillac and the 20/25 over some of the Pave roads round Paris in exactly the same way as Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} and I did. We should like you to be there during the tests so that you can make sure that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} appreciates the difference between the two cars. We should also like you to show him the brass pieces you removed from the squab, broken wings, sunshine roof, etc; also to emphasize that in order to keep the doors from rattling on an English coachbuilt body the door wedges have to be made so tight that they can only be shut with difficulty. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} is going to be at the Paris office on Saturday morning the 19th, and if you can call round there about 9.30 a.m. he will tell you when he is ready to try the two cars. After the test Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} will proceed to Switzerland in the Cadillac. We want Roberts to go with him, and we want you to bring 21-G-IV back to Boulogne and leave it in a Garage there. Will you please instruct Roberts to wire Derby as soon as he knows what time he will get to Boulogne after returning from Switzerland. We anticipate that he will be back by Tuesday afternoon. The proposal is that four of the leading London Coachbuilders are coming over with Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} to try the cars under French conditions. We are provisionally arranging that they should arrive midday on Wednesday. We want Roberts to stay with them during the test and Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} can arrange for a London driver to bring 21-G-IV back to Derby. When you have left 21-G-IV at Boulogne on Sunday will you come back here. Will you send the men back from Chateauroux when you leave for Paris. HB{C. E. Harcombe}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
