Weight of Engine including flywheel disc but no Clutch 2P 320 Cu. Ins 808 LBS. Gearbox (3 speed) & bell Housing. 131 LBS. Clutch, less flywheel face to crank. 40 LBS. Complete 12 cyl car? 5310 LBS 147 1/2" wheelbase } 3001 R.P.M per mile. Engine Mounting. Packards are enthusiastic about their engine mounting. It appears to me to be an intelligent crib of the Chrysler with the merit that it avoids their patents. The great point is to arrange the front support so that the line joining it with the rear is the rotational axis when the frame tries to shape the engine. Thus the frame has to translate the engine bodily when it wants to jelly. | ||
