SECRET Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/MN.18.5.35. To H.H. Copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EJC. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/RM.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} PS/ND. Re Bumpers for SpectreCodename for Phantom III. We have fitted up the bumper which you very kindly obtained for us for the second SpectreCodename for Phantom III, from our LeC.4443. We are now sending you herewith a print of LeC. 4498 which shows a bumper of modified design which we should like to fit to the third car. We should like one of these bumpers as soon as possible. Now that we have departed from the standard Ridlington design it may be that Mr.Ridlington will be unable to make them. If we have to get them from Wilmot-Breeden we think there will be more delay. The design of the round end should be adhered to in size but the actual method of construction can be varied to suit the maker's requirements.
