We think machine grinding should be deleted on Phantom III. The 25.HP. springs which are higher stressed have never been machine ground. We should also like to know the saving in cost by having rolled eyes on Bentley springs. The solid eye was originally adopted owing to Woodhead's small extra cost for it. Firth's never can produce solid eyes cheaply. We think Cadmium plating is necessary, as we save considerable weight by using higher stressed springs compared to other manufacturers.
