PETROL TANK LOP. F.56266.-
The petrol tank and fittings have shown no deterioration. No petrol leaks have developed. The petrol filter when examined at 2,000 miles was found to contain water. Otherwise it was in a clean condition.

PETROL TELGAUGE.-
The petrol telgauge failed during the test; due to the pipe line connection on the tank admitting air. This joint was made O.K., the petrol gauge having since read the correct amount of petrol.

REAR SPARE WHEEL CARRIER & LUGGAGE GRID LOP. D.51697.-
The rear spare wheel has chattered. We have found the carrier plate is not sufficiently rigid, the flexibility allowing movement of the tyre to take place. We find to examine the petrol filter in the tank it is necessary to dismantle the luggage grid.

BATTERY & FITTINGS LOP. F.54489.-
No trouble has been experienced with the battery fittings and battery box. The battery box has remained firm throughout the test. A fair amount of distilled water has had to be added to the battery through evaporation.

REAR & FRONT BRAKE EQUALIZING MECHANISM LOP. G.53720 G.53709 G.53162.-
These have operated satisfactorily, and no undue wear can be detected.

SIDE SPARE WHEEL CARRIERS.-
The side spare wheel carriers at the beginning of the test were very flexible and a great amount of movement both laterally and vertically took place. We strengthened the n/s carrier by welding stays to support the tubes and strengthened the carrier plate by having bridge pieces welded on to it. Very little distortion of the frame takes place where the spare wheel brackets are attached. The increased rigidity of the carrier lessened the movement of the spare wheel by 75%. Complete reports and drawings were sent to Derby with regard to this.

WINGS AND WING STAYS LOP. F.55928.-
The front wing stays fitted to this car are similar to those that have been condemned previously and are obsolete. The n/s second wing stay broke through the bolt holes where attached to the frame. The flexibility of the stays has caused the wings to become cracked where attached to the running board and on the front edge.

ELECTRICAL FITTINGS. IGNITION COIL LOP. D.71650. BALLAST RESISTANCE LOP. D.50953.-
There has been no failure of the coil throughout the test.

DISTRIBUTOR LOP. D.50618.-
The distributor and contact points have not given any trouble. The contact points when examined at 9,000 miles were in very good condition. At 9,000 miles a small pip had formed.

DYNAMO LOP. D.50636.-
The output of the dynamo has been entirely satisfactory. Condition of brush gear and commutator were O.K. at the finish of the mileage.

STARTER MOTOR LOP. D.51632.-
The starter motor has functioned perfectly throughout the test.
