ROLLS-ROYCE OF AMERICA, INC. SPRINGFIELD, MASS. x7941d November 21, 1930. To: Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} It is the standard practice here to run a big jack under the back of the car and jack the whole car up under the axle casing. This is frequently used in order to get the car in and out of a confined space. Springfield would like to know whether there is any risk of damaging the axle by this operation. Bonnet Fasteners - The bonnet on this car knocks and makes a noise when going over a rough road. I feel that the springs in the bonnet catches could be made 50% stronger. This will be an advantage on all cars. I recommend that you try this out. H/B Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [STAMP: POST RECEIVED DEC 18 1930] | ||
