P.N. Copy to:- Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7770 CWB8/GM/29.12.28. SECRET. Re: 18-EX. and 19-EX. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} telephoned me this morning to say that he is crossing to France on the night of the 2nd January via Southampton and Havre, with 19-EX. He proposed that P.N. and CWB. should join him somewhere on the 4th of January with 18-EX and that together these cars should work towards R.{Sir Henry Royce} at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence in the course of the test. This would appear to be a very sound arrangement, and as it appears from the progress now made with the 10,000 mile test of 18-EX, that it will have finished 9,000 miles by the night of the 2nd of January. I have arranged that we shall meet Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} at the Hotel Lutetia at 10 a.m. on the 4th of January. This is one day earlier than we had arranged to meet previously. This arrangement is, of course, subject to your finding it possible to carry it out, but unless I hear from you to the contrary, I will be at the Rendezvous on 4th January in lieu of 5th. CWB. | ||
