-4- CAR TEST RESULT (16) Buick 9 & 10 with clutch centre solid. No difference. (17) 33-EX Old small flexible Ph.II fabric coupling. No difference. (18) 30-EX 10,000 mile box from S-S-I, torque member on rear axle. Has no effect. (19) 30-EX As (18) but member locates axle and takes thrust. No benefit. (20) 30-EX S-S-I's box. Removing change speed bracket. Considerable improvement. (21) 30-EX As (20) but 3 layers of felt on top of floor everywhere. Further improvement. (22) 30-EX As (21) but box wrapped in felt. Very little improvement. (23) 30-EX As (22) but no oil in box. Worse at low speeds but cut off speed unchanged. (24) 29-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Torque reaction dampers tightened to prevent engine movement in frame. Engine still moves because of frame twist. No improvement. (25) 29-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Increasing propellor shaft inertia by 110 lbs.in.^2. No improvement. | ||
