Luggage Carriers P.2. and 20/25.

I have examined the preliminary scheme of luggage carrier made by EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} for the Phantom 2 and am of the opinion that this should go on the Phantom 2 and 20/25 10,000 mile test cars that we have in preparation.

EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} thinks there is just time to modify the panelling at the bottom portion of the rear of the body so as to fair it in to the rear apron effect produced when the luggage carrier is closed and obtain a graceful finish at this point.

This carrier operates on the same principle as the one originally made for J.3. and although we made some criticisms in the past of the method of operation in erecting this type of carrier there is no doubt that it is a thoroughly sound mechanical job compared with the alternatives available from outside, and I think if we go on trying to get other working schemes under the difficult limitations surrounding the problem we shall get nothing at all.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is in agreement as regards applying the scheme as indicated, and we are, therefore, including this feature in the proposed specification of the 10,000 mile cars.
