Dear Sirs,

I am writing you with regard to 2 exhaust manifolds which you Black Vitreous enamelled for us some time ago.

The large one stood up to a dynamometer test where the manifold reach a red hot condition for 5 hours before beginning to shew signs of cracking, and we considered this to be very promising, but the smaller one which was fitted to a car cracked very badly after only 150 miles' road running. The latter of course is very disappointing, as one would have expected the dynamometer tested manifold to crack up first due to the much higher temperatures reached.

It rather looks as if a better job was made of the larger manifold. Will you let me know if you would like these manifolds returning to you for your examination, as we are very interested in this process.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
