Reference your memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG30.12.21., just received.

As regards the top half of the crank-case we have now sent you the newmounting for the generator. We wish to move the oil filler slightly to the rear to obtain a little more clearance with the exhaust pipe. We require for it a simple 2 bolter flange of which we are sending particulars to-day. The breather connection you need hardly worry about as it consists of an oval 2 bolter flange for a half inch pipe joint on the crankcase near to the carburetter and the fixing could be made to the existing crankcase. The drawing of this connection will probably be through to-day.

With regard to the lower half the question of making the oil drain from the crankcase more conveniently operated was raised with Mr. Royce a little while ago, and he decided to make no alteration. I think that the bottom half could be considered final as far as we know.

With regard to the magneto drive Mr. Royce does not regard the magneto ignition on this engine as being of great importance and he would not stop the crankcase upper half for adding features for the control gear. Nevertheless we are pushing on with this job.

X434? with regard to your memo. Hsl/LG6.1.22., it is not clear from your note whether the edges of the fly wheel teeth are rounded off in addition to the edges on the teeth on the
